Soft tissues such as muscles, tendons, fascia, ligaments and nerves can get stuck or “hung up” when scar tissue forms from repetitive activity, poor posture, activity, sport or surgery. This causes dysfunction and can present as pain, decreased mobility and weakness.
Manual therapy includes manipulating joints and soft tissues by hand. Coach Amy has honed several manual therapy techniques over decades, including Active Release Technique (ART), joint mobilization and myofascial release.
Manual Therapy
Manual therapy helps to relieve pain and restore mobility and function by mobilizing bound tissues. It is highly effective with a well-rounded arsenal of treatment methods, including movement therapy.
How does this help?
“I was experiencing severe lower back pain while training for a half marathon. It hurt so much I'd be in tears. I had shooting pain down my hips and legs, too. I started seeing Amy for physical therapy sessions, including Active Release Therapy (ART) and strength training. It made a HUGE difference for me. After a couple of sessions, I was mostly pain-free, and I could continue to run and train for my half marathon.”
