Dry Needling
Dry needling is a drug-free, highly effective treatment that can treat and help prevent injury, minimize pain and enhance performance.
In the event of injury or overuse, the body releases chemicals. The needles create tiny lesions in the tissue that help reset the body’s chemistry and improve nutrition around the muscle and nerve cells.
Coach Amy practices a gentle, nonaggressive technique known as neurological dry needling. This holistic approach to needling targets the nervous system by stimulating particular points beyond tight muscle knots known as trigger points.
Sports, hobbies and activities of daily living require prolonged and repetitive movements that can lead to injury. Dry needling aids healing and promotes recovery by:
managing inflammation
decreasing soreness and pain
improving strength and muscle quality
How does this help?
“Amy treated my migraines with dry needling. After the first treatment, the results were life-changing. For 6 months I had woken up with a headache, but these immediately disappeared. For over a year I often canceled plans because I could not leave home, but now I can plan because I know I won't be stuck in bed with a headache. Dry needling with Coach Amy has been central to my recovery.”
