October is National Physical Therapy Month!

Physical therapy became an established practice near the beginning of the 20th century by providing rehabilitation services to injured war veterans and survivors of polio. Over the last 100 years, physical therapy has evolved into a specialized practice that provides advanced treatments to patients not only for rehabilitation but also for injury prevention and sports performance enhancement.

Due to social distancing requirements, we are unable to host in-person events to celebrate Physical Therapy Month. As an alternative way to honor physical therapy month, and as part of our effort to help our patients stay active and injury-free, we’d like to direct you to articles that summarize the four pillars of physical therapy that promote a long-term healthy lifestyle:

We love hearing your stories of how you’ve conquered pain or injury to continue doing what you love and how you’ve committed to a disciplined regimen to accomplish a new goal.

Let’s celebrate our good health and accomplishments! Share your success stories on our Facebook and Instagram pages this month so we can celebrate as a community.

Thank you for being an important part of the CoachAmyPT and Roadrunners of Kansas City communities. We looking forward to hearing from you this month.
